Swirl 2021

Supporting the Ever-changing Needs of Our Community

With each new curveball the pandemic has thrown, Bailey-Boushay House (BBH) has been there for their community — from routine COVID-19 testing, to mental health support, to vaccine distribution. On August 19, we held our annual Swirl fundraiser, coming together virtually to celebrate BBH’s invaluable care and to raise funds to support their critical work.

The celebrations kicked off with weeklong silent and wine auctions. During the main program, guests joining virtually enjoyed hearing from clients, staff and supporters about how BBH changes lives. They also bid on auction items like a weekend at The Resort at Port Ludlow, a three-day trip to Walla Walla, and 24 VIP suite tickets to a Mariner’s game.

All told the event raised over $350,000, and will support high-quality, compassionate care for those living with HIV/AIDS and other conditions such as ALS, Huntington’s Disease and terminal cancer. This includes continuing to adapt to a COVID-19 world and supporting clients with everything from grocery store gift cards to pandemic-safe lunches. This wouldn’t be possible without our generous community of donors.

“Bailey-Boushay House is a wonderful example of what can happen when a caring community comes together,” says BBH Board Member Kathleen Paul. “Over the years, many donors have contributed to support the multitude of services that have created an incredible safety net for some of our most vulnerable. I am proud to support Bailey-Boushay House as it continues to evolve to meet the changing needs of our community.”
