Patients Show Overwhelming Gratitude for Physicians

The relationships between doctors and patients are very special. Whether the care visit is around staying healthy, dealing with a disease, or recovering from an injury, patients and physicians work together for optimal outcomes.

Once a year, patients are invited to honor their Virginia Mason physicians with a personal message of gratitude and a tribute gift if they choose. The annual response to National Doctors’ Day on March 30 has been overwhelming.

Honoring Physicians and Funding Needs

Since 2012, National Doctors’ Day at Virginia Mason has:

  • Engaged 2,448 patients and donors
  • Honored over 280 physicians and health care providers
  • Raised more than $264,000 for various programs and areas of greatest need, providing remarkable care to patients

Special Notes of Appreciation

From a grateful patient:
"Doctors’ Day is a great idea! Often patients don’t have a way to let our doctors know how much we appreciate them. Thanks to all my Virginia Mason doctors!”

From a thankful physician:
“As a physician, my main goal is helping my patients and addressing their concerns.  It is heartwarming to know that my efforts are appreciated and that I am meeting their needs.”

Tributes to physicians and other health care providers can be made at any time. For more information, visit the Memorial and Tribute Gifts webpage.
