Enwave: Steam-Powered Generosity

In the 1980s, Enwave Energy Corporation, which provides heating, cooling, sterilization and more, wanted to do more to give back to their community. They had been working with Virginia Mason for several years, providing things like steam heating to keep our hospital warm. Having seen first-hand how Virginia Mason’s care makes a difference in patients’ lives, they included our organization in their philanthropic efforts and have supported us for more than 30 years.

“Enwave first started supporting Virginia Mason in 1989,” says Allie Picha, development officer for corporate giving at the Virginia Mason Foundation, “and their longstanding commitment has helped us achieve many milestones in care and research.”

Enwave remains a vital partner: Their steam heat continues to help us control the temperature on our campus during chilly winter months. They also provide steam that we use to sterilize surgical tools. And because Enwave is dedicated to building sustainable futures, they also help us run our hospital with attention to sustainability and energy efficiency.

“It’s such a pleasure to work with a like-minded organization that’s dedicated to giving back to our community, and we look forward to working with them in the future,” Allie says.
