Honeywell: Helping Keep Seattle Well

Honeywell's work installing and updating fire and life safety systems puts them in a unique position to see Virginia Mason in action: Their employees work in often unseen places at all hours, bearing witness to the lifesaving care our team provides.

This first-hand experience inspired Honeywell to become a Virginia Mason corporate sponsor and their gifts over the past several years have played a vital role in helping us remain a healthcare leader.

“Honeywell's philanthropy program aims to create meaningful, lasting benefits for the communities where we live and work,” says John Schack, Honeywell's district sales leader. “Because of the great work Virginia Mason does to serve people in Seattle and beyond, supporting them is a natural way to positively affect a lot of lives, now and in the future.”

The company's philanthropic priorities include improving access to housing and fostering scientific innovation. With these goals in mind, Honeywell is proud to support Bailey-Boushay House — which recently opened a shelter for homeless clients with HIV/AIDS and other conditions — and the pioneering immune disease research at Benaroya Research Institute.

“Because of my job, I visit dozens of healthcare facilities each year and Virginia Mason stands out for its professionalism, and for its staff's incredible commitment and expertise, in all areas at all times,” says Mike Murphy, Honeywell's Northwest account executive. “When it comes time for me to need healthcare, Virginia Mason will be at the top of my list, and I'm excited that our donations can help many other people access this outstanding care.”
